60,000 Positive Thoughts

By blameiton

When you are sitting and just thinking, what do you think about? Maybe, “Oh my arm hurts”. Or, “I have a headache”. If you are driving maybe you think, “That guy just cut me off at the light”. Then when you give room to one of those thoughts where does it go? “My arm hurts so I had better watch out for a heart attack.” “It must be a tumor.” “I’m going to follow that guy until he parks and give him a piece of my mind.” In an average day you think about 60,000 thoughts. How many of these will you allow to be negative? You see, we know there will be problems in life. That’s what life is about. It’s a school house.  We learn from problems.  But, to be a productive, happy human being you must give more room to the positive thoughts then you do to the negative.

What makes great men and great women great is few but firm principles. Try saying to yourself “I always have a smile on my face”. Then live it. If you say just that one thing to yourself 30,000 times in a day you will only have room enough left for a possible 30,000 negative thoughts. But don’t stop there. Admire yourself in the mirror. Plan to buy flowers and gifts for someone. Play the thankful game. I’m grateful for my parents. I’m grateful for my daughter. I’m grateful for my car. Keep it going. This will form an attitude. That attitude will form good habits. Your life will soon reflect it.

This is a REALLY good topic to talk about. At my high school in speech we have a life lesson everyday and we’re writing a ‘creek book,’ writing things about each topic in the book and basically writing a book (obviously). I just wanted to let you know that I used the main topic of this entry but wrote my own thoughts on it. That’s really interesting – 60,000 thoughts? I was always wondering how many thoughts (on average) people had every day. You’re a very talented writer!

Thanks for the compliment Rachel. I am guessing you graduate in 3 years. Anything I can do to help you be all you can be I am will to do. Listen to that voice inside and follow your passion.
